My baby turns ONE

I think I am about to get all sentimental on you peeps - and personal - and honestly I don't do that much, but here goes it.

My son - he is one. All you parents out there go through this, IT'S A BIG DEAL. Of course I have a daughter who is about to be THREE so this is not my first rodeo - but every child, is different.

My precious baby boy is now not a baby, but a toddler. Having a boy is so different than having a girl. That's mommy's little baby - he's a momma's boy for sure. But one thing I do tell myself that when he goes out on his own, I will not be that mom that holds on to "her baby". But I understand why mom's do - the relationship with sons are just so different.

I am going to go picture over load because I CAN because HENRY IS ONE!!

I was induced with both kids - Henry was a day late so we headed to the hospital at 9am on a Sunday - best Sunday morning, ever. Doc was hesitant but when I arrived I was 4cm dilated. She stripped my membranes & I about punched the side of my bed because she told me DURING doing it what she was doing. OUCH. Started my pitocin around 11 - progressed quickly - epidural was not nearly as strong as when I had Hadley so I could feel a lot of pain but it was bearable. I fell asleep for maybe 5 minutes - woke up because I swear the catheter needed to come out because it was getting uncomfortable - our bomb diggity nurse Ron came in & I told him, he checked me & said you're right it needs to come out because your baby is about to come out. OHHH so that's the feeling of pushing - got it. CHECK.

{please ignore my appearance & my 8 chins - but this is me at 10cms ready to get this show on the road}

Mind you - I love labor, I love the whole process of it. It is such a fabulous experience, if I could go through that once a year I'd be okay with it - but I am totally good with my 2 kids. SO I was exciiiited to start pushing. I pushed like 5 or 6 times & welp little Mr. LLOYD Henry came out at 6:43pm.

{All 8lbs & 15oz of this presh baby boy}

{Us 3 right after birth - again excuse my now sweaty of a mess appearance}

{One of my favorite pictures of Hadley meeting her brother for the first time}

{holding him for the very first time}

{and then our family became four :)}

Happy Birthday to your baby!

Enjoy every moment with him because babies grow up so fast. Mine is 12 now and I cry almost every night wishing I spent more time with him when he was a toddler.

Aw, happy birthday to your little man! I think it's emotional, no matter how many kids you have. He's such a handsome little guy, and congrats on surviving the first year! :)

Isn't it amazing how quickly it goes by?! My son will be 4 in August and my daughter is now 15 months. Seems like just yesteday I got an emergency ambulance trip (totally unexpected) after Gemma decided to come along a little quicker than we had though and was almost born on the ferry to Seattle! And you look GREAT both before and after having your little ones. Love your first family pic and your daughter's big smile. When Timmy first say Gemma, I couldn't quite tell whether he was scared or shocked. Probably a bit of both:) Great post!
